Faith Church in Quarryville, Rooted in the Westminster Confession
Faith Church sits along Robert Fulton Highway in Quarryville, a borough in the southern end of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The congregation is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and describes itself as a community of people from many backgrounds united in a common love of Christ through the gospel. Its members subscribe to the Westminster Confession of Faith and hold that the Bible is the very Word of God and the only rule of faith and practice.
The church's ministry rhythm centers on the careful, expository preaching of Scripture, blended congregational singing, and a deep network of small groups that meet in homes and on the church campus throughout the week. Pastors and ministry staff describe the congregation as people-focused, with relationships and community placed at the heart of everything the church does.
Sunday Worship and the Priority of Preaching
Sunday morning at Faith Church moves in two parts. Sunday School classes for every age begin at 9:30 a.m., and the main worship service gathers at 10:30 a.m. Worship is framed as a gospel conversation between God and his people. Music is led from a blend of old and new hymns and songs, accompanied by a variety of instruments and vocalists; congregational singing is treated as an act of praise, prayer, and proclamation.
Preaching carries the primary weight of the service. Pastors walk through books of the Bible week after week, aiming to proclaim the truth of Scripture and apply it to every area of life. Sermons typically run 30 to 35 minutes. Visitors are welcome to come dressed however they feel comfortable, and the church livestreams its services for those unable to attend in person. Sermon audio and video are archived online.
Children and Sunday School
Faith Church offers Sunday School for children from age two through fifth grade before the worship service, with classes meeting during the 9:30 a.m. hour. Children's Church is also offered during the 10:30 a.m. worship service for children ages three through six. The children's ministry staff and volunteers describe their aim as helping kids know Jesus as Savior, honor Him as Lord, serve Him as King, and grow in daily awe of Him.
Classrooms are organized by age group and use a mix of Truth78 and Great Commission Publications curricula. Two-year-olds meet in Room 202 for GCP Preschool: God's Family; threes and pre-K use He Has Spoken By His Son in Room 205; kindergarten and first grade study Jesus, What a Savior! in Room 206; second and third graders work through Faithful to All His Promises in Room 207; and fourth and fifth graders follow the GCP G2R Bible Survey starting in Genesis in Room 209.
For the youngest members, nursery care is offered in two windows: children under two are cared for during the Sunday School hour, with a dedicated two-year-old class in Room 202, and children two and under may remain in the nursery through the worship service without parents needing to pick them up between programs.
Youth Ministry for Grades Six through Twelve
The youth ministry at Faith Church is intentionally woven into the broader church body. Youth Director Daniel Kreider leads the program with the conviction that young people thrive when they are enjoying the benefits of a multi-generational congregation, learning Scripture under parents and mentors, and investing in one another. Sunday nights, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., are set aside for fellowship and Bible study with mature Christian adults.
The teaching program moves through themes such as the names of God in Scripture and core doctrines of the Christian faith, with the goal of forming a biblical worldview that students can apply to daily life. The Kreiders and a team of female youth assistants walk alongside middle and high schoolers as they grow in the gospel.
Life Groups Across the Congregation
Life Groups are the principal means by which Faith Church builds deep relationships within the body. Drawing on the pattern of Acts 2:42, these small groups gather for Bible study, prayer, and intentional engagement with one another's lives. The church describes them as open to anyone looking for community within the church family, whether 22 or 92, and groups meet in homes and on campus at various times during the week.
Women's and Men's Ministry
The Women's Ministry at Faith Church is designed as an every-member ministry, helping each woman know Christ personally and extend His Kingdom in her life, home, church, and community. Growth happens through women's Bible studies, prayer groups, mentoring, and discipleship. Three ongoing studies run during the week. A Tuesday evening study of 1 Peter meets from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Large Life Group Room at the church. A Friday morning study of Esther by Lydia Brownback runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the same room. A Thursday afternoon study of 1 and 2 Peter: Living Hope in a Hard World meets on the first and third Thursdays at The Gathering Place at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. Childcare is not provided for the women's studies.
The Men's Ministry exists to see men mature in their relationships with Christ, with one another, and in their identity as mature biblical men. A men's Bible study meets on the first and third Mondays from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and is currently working through Philippians. A Thursday morning study gathers at Lapp's from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. and then continues at the church from 8:15 to 9:30 a.m., walking through the Gospels. A Saturday morning study, led in the church library, works through Not a Fan by Kyle Idleman.
Missions Near and Far
Faith Church supports a wide network of mission partners locally, regionally, and internationally. Locally, the church works alongside New Hope Counseling Center, a Christ-inspired counseling ministry offering hope and restoration through professional services; Solanco Neighborhood Ministries, which builds relationships and support networks for families in the Solanco community; a pregnancy resource center promoting life-affirming choices; and a men's recovery ministry that leads men toward lifelong freedom through life-skills education and a relationship with Jesus Christ. Joy El Ministries and Solid Rock Quarryville extend the church's reach into youth and family ministry, including camps and discipleship experiences.
On the college front, Faith Church partners with Reformed University Fellowship at Millersville University, led by Chris Peter, and at Penn State, led by Matt Dabiero. The church also walks alongside four missionary families serving through Mission to the World. Verne and Alina Marshall have served in Santiago, Chile since 1985, focusing on church planting, apologetics, and gospel ministry in northeastern Santiago. Victor and Nosizo Nakah serve from Johannesburg, supporting sub-Saharan African ministry, theological education, and the Lausanne Theology Working Group. Nate and Nikki Bonham are planting Iglesia El Redentor in Rionegro, Colombia, after years of church revitalization in Peru. Jorum and Evah Mugari train church leaders in Zimbabwe through the Theological College of Zimbabwe and the Presbytery of Bulawayo.
Pastoral Staff and Leadership
Faith Church is served by a team of pastors, ministry directors, and lay leaders who are dedicated to equipping believers to use their gifts for ministry. Michael Brown was installed as Senior Pastor in 2020; he previously practiced law in Dallas and graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary before serving as an associate pastor in Georgia. Devin Kahan joined as Pastor of Congregational Care in 2024 and comes to the role with experience in pastoral ministry in Mississippi and South Carolina. Don Waltermyer serves as Pastor to Seniors, a role he began in 2025 after planting Providence Presbyterian Church in York, PA and pastoring congregations in western Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey; he graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. Daniel Kreider leads the youth ministry and has been on staff since 2019 after graduating from Lancaster Bible College. Matt Mowen serves as a pastoral intern with responsibility for the music and young adult ministries. Andy Young serves as an elder, following in a family line of elders that stretches back two generations at Faith Church.
The church is governed by a Session of elders who oversee doctrine and life, supported by deacons who minister to physical needs within the congregation and a Women's Council that advises the Session. Elders are described as examples in home life, personal conduct, and relationships, modeled on the qualifications in 1 Timothy 3:1-7. Deacons carry the duty of caring for the sick, the friendless, and those in distress, in keeping with the Book of Church Order.
Giving and Getting Connected
Giving is presented as an act of worship flowing from gratitude and love. Gifts can be made securely online through the church's giving portal, and the church office can be reached at 717-786-7559 or frpc@faithrpc.org Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The building sits at 611 Robert Fulton Highway in Quarryville, where the congregation gathers weekly around the preaching of the Word, the fellowship of the table, and the call to live every area of life to the glory of God.
