Trinity Chapel Assembly of God, an Assemblies of God congregation rooted in the Lyndon area of East Louisville, has been shaping faith in and around Louisville for decades. Its motto - "Love Jesus. Impact the World." - captures a church that runs two Kentucky campuses, supports missionaries on four continents, and walks with members through every stage of life from newborn nursery to senior adulthood.

Two Campuses, One Church Family

The flagship Louisville campus sits at 8617 Whipps Mill Road in the 40222 zip code, just down the street from Oxmoor Hyundai. Sunday worship gathers there at 11 AM, and on Wednesday evenings at 7 PM the property fills up for Family Night Activities across children's clubs, student ministry, and adult gatherings. About thirty miles east in Shelby County, a second campus meets at 3267 US-60, Shelbyville, KY 40065, holding Sunday worship at 6 PM. The Shelbyville location has its own campus pastor and offers the same family-focused ministry in a smaller, community-sized setting.

What Sundays Look Like in Louisville

Sunday is the heart of the week. Worship is contemporary and Pentecostal in spirit - lively music led by Worship Director Brehnan Miller, Bible preaching, and an openness to the gifts and presence of the Holy Spirit. The dress code is "come as you are": the church keeps things welcoming and informal, whether someone is exploring faith for the first time or has walked with Jesus for decades. Children's ministry for ages six weeks through fifth grade runs alongside the worship service at 11 AM, so families can attend together.

For anyone who wants to come but is hesitant, the church runs a Plan Your Visit connection so a host can save a seat, answer questions, and walk newcomers through the building on arrival. Worship is also livestreamed each Sunday at 11:00 AM Eastern through the church's online platform.

Wednesday Family Nights

Wednesday at 7 PM is when Trinity Chapel feels most like a family. Children move into their age-specific clubs, middle and high school students gather in the newly renovated TC Basement for worship, teaching, and prayer, and adults meet in mid-week groups. The whole church shows up, learns together, and goes home refreshed for the rest of the week.

TC Kids: From the Nursery to Fifth Grade

Children's ministry is a major investment at Trinity Chapel. Sunday mornings at 11 AM offer four tracks:

• TC Nursery, for newborns through age three, available every Sunday morning and Wednesday evening, with policies in place to keep little ones safe and parents at ease.
• TC Preschool, for ages three to five, built around worship, song time, prayer, offering, a Bible story, craft time, and activities that reinforce the lesson week to week.
• TC Kids, for kindergarten through fifth grade, with worship, age-appropriate teaching, skits, and games.
• Junior Bible Quiz (JBQ), a quick-recall discipleship program for K through sixth grade in which teams memorize scripture and compete in local, state, regional, and national tournaments.

Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge (BGMC) weaves missions education into the children's program. On Wednesday evenings the lineup grows: Sunlight Kids teaches foundational Bible stories to ages six weeks through three years through repetition and games. Rainbows introduces three- to five-year-olds to Christ through a Noah's Ark theme. Girls Ministries (K-5) uses music, crafts, and Bible stories. Royal Rangers (K-5) mentors boys through a program focused on Christ-like character and servant leadership. Children's Pastor Emalee Terhune, a credentialed Assemblies of God minister, oversees the entire birth-through-fifth-grade ministry.

Students, College, and Twenty-Somethings

Middle and high schoolers (sixth through twelfth grade) are not an afterthought at Trinity Chapel. TC Students meets Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM for small groups and Bible discussion, then gathers in the TC Basement on Wednesday nights at 7 PM for a service built around worship, teaching, and prayer. Beyond services, students can plug into a Student Fine Arts team, a Student Worship Team, the Sunday Morning Worship Team, and mission trips. Every adult worker has been through training and background checks. Student & College Pastor Philip Lascoe, a credentialed Assemblies of God minister, leads the ministry.

College students and young professionals meet Sunday evenings at 6 PM for Bible study, fellowship, and conversation about transitioning into adulthood. The church supports them through care packages, scholarship opportunities, and warm welcomes back during summer and winter breaks. There is also a separate 20's & 30's community for singles, young couples, and young families looking for friendships with peers in a similar stage of life.

Internationals and a Worldwide Missions Family

Trinity Chapel is unusually outward-focused for a church its size. TC Internationals hosts a regular fellowship for individuals and families born or raised outside the United States, an effort to appreciate cultural diversity while centering on Christ.

Missions are organized around Acts 1:8 - local, national, and international. On the local side, Tunya Adams serves in rural ministry and the church supports three Chi Alpha campus ministries: Erik & Ashley Cabrera at the University of Louisville, Ben Burnett at Eastern Kentucky University, and Anthony & Rachel Mullins at Morehead State University. On the national side, the church backs Gus & Terry Craven in ministry to Native Americans, Rachel Crucetta with the Protect Me Project, and Joil & Leah Marbut in Ecuador. On the international side, partners include Josh & Erin McCoin in Japan, Dave & Debbie Amsler in Guatemala, Kent & Paige Parrish in Indonesia, David & Emily Trementozzi in Belgium, and Jimmy & Jill Susa in Venezuela. Broader ministry partners include BGMC, Royal Rangers, Chi Alpha, Convoy of Hope, and Teen Challenge Kentucky.

Small Groups, Growth Track, and Membership

Trinity Chapel is built around small communities. Sunday Morning Groups meet from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the hour before the worship service, with Bible studies and classes for adults. Small Groups then continue that connection during the week in homes throughout the fall session.

People who want to go deeper can sign up for Growth Track, a four-part series that meets Sundays at 9:30 AM and helps newcomers discover their gifts and find a place to serve. After completing Growth Track, anyone ready to commit can attend a membership lunch with the pastors to talk through the church's beliefs, values, direction, and the meaning of joining the Trinity Chapel family. Child care is provided at the lunch.

Worship, Podcast, and Online Resources

Worship at Trinity Chapel is more than Sunday music. The TC Worship team rehearses weekly and brings Christ-centered praise to both Sunday morning and TC Students' Wednesday nights. What Trinity Chapel Believes

Trinity Chapel holds to the Assemblies of God Statement of Fundamental Truths. The church teaches belief in one God who exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; in Jesus Christ as fully God and fully man who died and rose again; and in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who gives spiritual gifts to every believer. The sixty-six books of the Bible are treated as the inspired and authoritative Word of God. Salvation comes by grace alone through faith in Christ. The Church is understood as the global community of those who have trusted in Jesus, gathered for worship, edification, and mission.

Pastor Brandon McDaniel and the Leadership Team

Pastor Brandon McDaniel has served as Lead Pastor of Trinity Chapel since February 2020. Raised in Georgia, he committed his life to Christ at sixteen, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministries from Emmanuel College, and completed a Master's in Theological Studies at Liberty University. He is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. His wife, Mari, is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's from Liberty, and together they are raising daughter Amara and son Ozias.

Alongside Brandon are Campus Pastor John Swinford, who leads the Shelbyville location; Children's Pastor Emalee Terhune, who oversees ministry from birth through fifth grade; Student & College Pastor Philip Lascoe, who shepherds middle school, high school, and college ministry; and Worship Director Brehnan Miller, who crafts the Sunday and Wednesday worship experiences.
