On a wooded stretch of West Mt Morris Road, just off I-75 at Exit 126, Trinity Assembly of God has been a fixture of the Mt Morris community in Genesee County for decades. The church's motto sums up its heartbeat: To Know Him and Make Him Known. Trinity describes itself as a body of believers who gather to celebrate the fullness of God's grace, mercy, and love and who strive to accomplish the Great Commission by living out the Great Commandment. The fellowship runs the full span of generations, from newborns in Trinity Kids to the J.O.Y. (Just Older Youth) group, and a busy slate of ministries for men, women, youth, and families.
Sunday Worship and Wednesday Connect
Trinity holds one Sunday morning service each week at 10:00 am. The gathering is built around extended worship, the preaching of the Word, faith-building, and time to connect with one another. Those who would rather come mid-week can attend Wednesday Connect at 6:30 pm, a program of classes for kids, teenagers, young adults, and adults focused on discovering more of who God is.
Sermons are recorded and posted online through Trinity's YouTube channel, and many services are livestreamed there for those who cannot attend in person. Recent series have included Faith That Lives, taught by Lead Pastor Rob King.
Sixteen Fundamental Truths and the Culture Code
Trinity is affiliated with the Assemblies of God and affirms the denomination's 16 Fundamental Truths. These include belief in the Bible as the inspired Word of God; one true God revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; the deity of Jesus Christ; the fall of humanity and salvation through faith in Christ; water baptism by immersion and Holy Communion; the Baptism in the Holy Spirit with the initial physical evidence of speaking in tongues; the progressive work of sanctification; the mission of the Church; divinely called leadership; divine healing; the Blessed Hope of the rapture; the millennial reign of Christ; final judgment for those who reject Christ; and the promise of the new heavens and new earth.
Layered on top of those doctrinal commitments is what Trinity calls its Culture Code, four core values that shape daily life at the church. The first is Healthy Priorities: God, Family, Church. The second is Led by the Holy Spirit: Prayer, Vision, Direction. The third is Mission Minded: Giving, Equipping, Sending. The fourth is Together: Growing, Serving, Living Life.
Something for Every Generation
Children, teens, young adults, and older adults each have their own community within Trinity.
Trinity Kids serves newborns through fifth grade on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. The TK team creates a fun, safe, and engaging environment where children learn about the love of Jesus, and the staff is available before services to assist with check-in. Becky Angliss and Tina Cornell serve as TK Directors. The annual Vacation Bible School is a major highlight; the 2026 program, Kingdom Quest, runs four evenings in August for kids ages 4 through 6th grade and ends with a Color Run.
Trinity Youth gathers middle and high schoolers (sixth through twelfth grade) on Wednesday nights, helping students explore their faith and navigate real-life topics. Nick and Miranda Murray lead Student Ministries, and Miranda also directs worship. Major youth events include BONZAI (an August kickoff weekend for students 6th through 10th grade), The Exchange (Sunday-evening gatherings in September and early October), the We Are One Youth Conference in March, and missions trips that have included service in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Trinity Young Adults, led by Rick Birchmeier, meets as a separate community called Chapel Eight for those between the student and senior years of life.
For those who feel too old for young adults and too young for the seniors, the new AI On the Move Connect Group (AI standing for Anyone In-between) meets in the Chapel and at host homes for fellowship, games, and occasional family outings.
The J.O.Y. group (Just Older Youth) completes the generational circle, gathering adults in a season of life for fellowship and care.
Women's, Men's, and Marriage Ministries
Women have several entry points at Trinity. Beauties with Bibles is a community that studies the Word, prays, fasts, and grows together through bi-monthly Bible study groups, book clubs, Zoom gatherings, girls' nights out, and times of prayer and fasting. God's Girls Bible Bar hosts special afternoons for teen girls ages 12 through 17, with Bible and journal decorating, interactive study, and prayer. Praying Wives, led by Bobbi Knorr, meets on the second and fourth Thursday evenings each month in the Men's Classroom for women who want to pray for their marriage and stand in the gap for their husbands. The annual Priceless Women's Conference, held at Brightmoor Christian Church in Novi, draws a Trinity contingent each fall.
Men at Trinity are equally active. The Men's Ministry gathers for quarterly pancake breakfasts, an annual golf outing at Vienna Greens that raises money for Speed the Light, and the spring Invincible Men's Conference at Brightmoor Christian Church.
Married couples can attend the biennial Marriage Conference (the 2026 edition was titled Fortified and featured Mike and Amy Houser), a Friday evening and Saturday program that includes games, teaching, meals, and small-group connection. Childcare is offered for ages 11 and under.
Missions Near and Far
Missions is described as a long-standing backbone of Trinity Assembly of God, in line with the Culture Code value of being Mission Minded through giving, equipping, and sending. The church partners with Assemblies of God World Missions and supports missionaries serving in regions that include Eurasia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Southern Asia. Monthly prayer reports from regional directors, such as the August 2026 focus on Eurasia and the May 2026 focus on Latin America and the Caribbean, keep the congregation informed and praying.
At home, the church runs a Weekly Food Distribution every Friday at 9:15 am. The distribution may be canceled due to holidays or other circumstances; the Food Distribution team provides phone confirmation and posts updates through a Facebook group.
Stephen Ministry and Pastoral Care
Trinity runs a Stephen Ministry, a lay-caring program in which trained members provide one-on-one Christian care to people experiencing grief, divorce, hospitalization, or other life difficulties. The ministry sits under Pastor Andrew and Kristie Totten's care portfolio alongside Missions and Worship.
The Pastoral Team
Pastor Rob and Betsy King serve as Lead Pastors. Rob attended Christ for the Nations Institute and the Michigan District School of Ministry and spent four years as a youth pastor in Detroit and two-and-a-half with a church plant in Waterford before joining Trinity's staff in 2009 as youth pastors. He became lead pastor in 2014. Betsy graduated from William Tyndale College with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Bible, worked four and a half years in the Assemblies of God Michigan District Office's Michigan Missions and Church Planting Department, and now serves alongside Rob on the office staff.
Pastor Nick and Miranda Murray lead Student Ministries, with Miranda additionally serving as Worship Director. Pastor Brian and Mary Stockfisch oversee Connections and Discipleship Ministries. Pastor Andrew and Kristie Totten oversee Missions, Worship, JOY, and Care Ministries, and Andrew writes the monthly missions prayer reports. Billy Eddy serves as Tech Director, and Becky Angliss and Tina Cornell co-direct Trinity Kids. Rick Birchmeier directs Young Adults.
Visiting Trinity
First-time guests are welcomed by a team that aims to make the visit smooth and enjoyable. The dress code is informal: come as you are and you'll feel right at home. Sunday morning check-in for kids is staffed before the service, and Wednesday Connect offers classes tailored to age and stage. After Sunday services, Connection Point is set up in the east lobby outside the sanctuary, where a team is ready to help visitors get plugged into a Connect Group, a ministry, or a serving team.

Giving and Digital Tools
Trinity teaches that giving is an act of worship. Online giving is available through PushPay, with options for one-time gifts or recurring automated contributions. Designated funds include tithes, building fund, missions, benevolence, and other. Text-to-Give is available by sending the keyword trinityaog to 77977. Quarterly contribution statements are mailed to givers' homes.
The church also provides a free RightNow Media library for its members, a streaming-video Bible study resource that can be accessed through an invite link.
