A Church Built Around Three Sunday Services
Peachtree City Christian Church sits on Kedron Drive in Peachtree City, Georgia, and is best recognized by the unusual choice it offers every worshipper on a Sunday morning: three different services, each with its own character. Members and visitors pick the style that fits them, and the building rotates between them on the same morning.
Traditional, Cafe, and Modern
The 9:30 Traditional Worship Service fills the Worship Center with hymns, gospel songs, and choruses accompanied by piano and organ, the kind of service that feels at home for people whose families have attended church for generations. Rusty Guest leads this service.
Also at 9:30, the Cafe Worship Service meets in the church cafe and is intentionally different. Worshippers sit around tables instead of rows. An acoustic accompaniment supports a few songs, a short talk, and prayers, and the whole hour is meant to feel relaxed rather than structured.
The 11:00 Modern Worship Service is the contemporary option, with a full band, a praise team, theater-style seating, and room to move during modern Christian music ensembles. The same sermon is taught across all three gatherings on a given Sunday.
A Praying Congregation
The church describes itself plainly as "a praying church that serves in our homes, community, and world." Prayer is treated as essential identity, and an Intercessory Prayer Meeting gathers every Thursday at 7:00 PM in the Quiet Room near the children's wing, always welcoming new faces. A prayer team is part of the larger volunteer ecosystem, and visitors who want to pray for the church's needs are invited to join.
Roots in the Restoration Movement
PTC3 identifies with the Restoration Movement tradition as an independent, elder-led congregation. The church states plainly: "We have no conference, convention, or earthly ecclesiastical authority over us - only Christ and His Word." Four phrases summarize the conviction: no creed but Christ; no name but the one given in Scripture; no book of doctrine but the Bible; no rule of faith and practice but the written Word of God.
The statement of faith teaches one God in three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), Jesus Christ as God's Son - born of a virgin, crucified, resurrected, ascended, and coming again, salvation through faith, repentance, confession, and baptism by immersion, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The Lord's Supper is observed as a gathered act of remembrance. The governing body is a board of elders, with Hank Carter serving as Chairman.
The Senior Pastor and Staff
Dr. George Dillard III has been preaching at PTC3 since 1993. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Atlanta Christian College (now Point University) and both a Master of Ministry and a Doctor of Philosophy in Theology from Evangelical Theological Seminary. He lives in Peachtree City with his wife Renee and their three children, Tiffany, Alexis, and Stewart.
Rex Wiseley has served at PTC3 since 2004 and now serves as Executive Pastor, after previous oversight of Student Ministry and Small Groups and Discipleship. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Atlanta Christian College and a Master of Divinity from Emmanuel School of Religion.
Jason Muldrow leads worship across the modern gatherings. Rusty Guest joined the staff in November 2017 to lead the Traditional service and serve as Pastoral Care Coordinator. Joy Hulsey directs communications, Alexis Coelho oversees Kids and Student Ministries, Grace Phillips is Assistant Student Director, and Jacqueline Mullen directs the nursery-preschool team.
Big Sweet Truth and Big City Kids
Children's ministry is split by age. Ages 0 to 2 are cared for in the nursery. Ages 2 to 5, called preschoolers, rotate through play, a short worship, a Bible lesson that mirrors the morning sermon, a snack, and a craft, with the program named "Big Sweet Truth" to signal its purpose. Kindergarten through fifth grade is "Big City Kids," which meets Sunday mornings for worship, a sermon-mirroring lesson, and small groups, and Wednesday nights for games, outside time, a small lesson, and worship.
Each Sunday, families check children in at a secure station and receive matching security codes printed on the child's name tag and the parent's tag, used both for in-service communication and for pick-up. Bullet-proof glass doors keep the children's wing locked during services.
SURGE Students
Middle and high school students (sixth through twelfth grade) meet as SURGE Students. On Sundays at 9:30 and 11:00, they begin in the main worship service for the singing portion and then move to their own space for games and a lesson that mirrors the sermon. Free breakfast for the group is served on the last Sunday of each month. Wednesday nights run from 6:30 to 8:00 PM with hang-out time, games, worship, and small groups. Weekend events and weekday study groups extend the rhythm throughout the month.
Men's, Women's, and Young Adult Community
Men's ministry gathers in two main settings: a Tuesday morning Bible study at 6:30 AM in the church cafe, hosted by Dr. George Dillard, and a Men's Breakfast on the second and fourth Saturdays at 8:00 AM for fellowship and study.
Women's ministry is the most varied adult ministry at PTC3. The week includes a Tuesday morning Bible study with Alison Wilson at 9:30 AM; a Tuesday study in Room 103 at 10:00 AM hosted by Cathi Geerlings with childcare; a Wednesday evening study in Room 103 from 6:30 to 7:30 PM led by Tammy Hyder and Kaylene Smith, also with childcare; "Nanny's" women's study led by Carolyn Dillard every other Thursday at 4:00 PM in Room 103; a Sunday afternoon Women's Community Group at 4:00 PM in Room 103; a Women's Breakfast on the first Saturday of each month at 9:00 AM in the Campus Atrium; and "The Gathering," a craft-and-fellowship day on the third Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Room 103. The annual theme for the women's group rotates around a Scripture focus, with a corresponding monthly service project.
Young adults aged 18 to 30 meet on Wednesdays after C267 at 8:00 PM, with a fellowship dinner on the last Wednesday of each month.
Other Adult Groups
Several smaller adult community groups gather through the week: the Halm Adult Community Group with David and Michelle Halm at 5:00 PM on Mondays, the Paul Burt Adult Community Group at 7:00 PM on Tuesdays at the Burts' home in Sharpsburg, the Wiseley Community Group with Rex and Lynn Wiseley at 6:30 PM on Wednesdays on the main campus, and a Sunday Morning Study Group at 10:00 AM in Room 103 hosted by Louise Schoon. A seniors group (50 and over) meets monthly for day trips, theater outings, musical events, and luncheons.
The Discipleship Builders Series
The church runs a five-part Discipleship Builders Series designed to grow believers from new followers into reproducing disciple-makers. The series walks through the essentials of discipleship (Surrender, Study, Serve, Share), the meaning of discipleship itself, a deep dive into the lives of the Twelve Apostles, a study built around Dr. George Dillard's book The Big Mission, and a chronological journey through Scripture. Sessions include childcare.
The Discipleship Builders flow into a longer Discipleship Program that prospective members are invited into after the monthly Prospective Member Orientation. Members and regular attenders are also given free full access to RightNow Media, a streaming library of Bible studies and curriculum.
Weekday Preschool
PTC3 Preschool serves children in a weekday program built around spiritual, social, emotional, linguistic, fine-motor, conceptual, and gross-motor development. Curriculum combines purposeful play with the Abeka curriculum and Handwriting Without Tears. Small classroom sizes are a selling point, and tours can be booked through the preschool office at 770.631.1938 or preschool@ptc3.com. The preschool director, Megan Smyth, also serves as Executive Director of Oxford Trails Academy, the church's year-round private childcare program for children six weeks through five years.
Guatemission and Global Reach
Since 2010, the church has built 220 homes and four church buildings in the San Rafael community of Guatemala, provided medical help to over 1,000 children, held multiple Vacation Bible School camps, and assisted with clean water initiatives. The annual Kirby Wallace Classic Golf Fundraiser, held since 1999, has grown into the primary vehicle for these and other global efforts. Past proceeds have gone to Hurricane Katrina relief, Ukraine, and Ghana.
PTC3 also supports missionaries in Haiti, Ghana, Japan, India, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Turkey, Guatemala, and through Operation Mobilization, plus a family known as the Witheralls in the Middle East.
Local Outreach and Support Groups
On the fourth Sunday of each month, the church's Share Team loads the church van and heads into Atlanta to serve at Jesus Place, a men's homeless mission, distributing donations of clothing and shoes. GriefShare, a grief-recovery support program, meets in the church cafe. Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous groups also meet at the campus. Recovery meetings, grief support, and the local mission trip together form the practical side of the church's calling "to serve in our homes, community, and world."
Two Sister Campuses
Two additional campuses extend the ministry beyond Peachtree City. The East Point Campus gathers at 11:00 AM each Sunday under Pastor Kris Hosey and his wife Kalimah. The County Line Campus in Brooks, Georgia, which the church describes as "one of the longest continuously running congregations in the state of Georgia," meets at 11:00 AM each Sunday under Pastor Jake Dukes and his wife Jackie.
Online and Midweek Worship
An online campus streams services live on Sundays at 9:30 and 11:00 AM (Eastern), with replays and a full sermon archive on the church's YouTube channel. Wednesday nights include the C267 service at 6:30 PM, described by the church as a deep dive into books of the Bible, followed by the 18-30 Young Adult Community Group at 8:00 PM. A Spanish translation of the weekly sermon notes is published alongside the English version.
Ways to Give
Giving can be done in person, online through a Subsplash link, by texting PTC3GIVE to 1-888-364-4483, or by mail. The church began accepting cryptocurrency, stocks, RMDs, and automobile donations as additional giving options.
A Year-Round Rhythm
Beyond the regular weekly calendar, PTC3 hosts a Fall Festival, an annual women's craft-and-service day, a monthly women's breakfast with a rotating service project, monthly Braves watch parties, and the spring and summer Kirby Wallace Classic. The Christmas Eve candlelight service each December closes the year. Prospective Member Orientation meets on the fourth Sunday of each month at 11:00 AM, and a "Come Get To Know Us" lunch gathers newcomers on the second Sunday at 12:15 PM with Pastor George.
