From a Living Room on Saturn Court to a Gravel Road in Milpitas
The story of Park Victoria Baptist Church begins on June 24, 1956, when the Milford Baptist Mission held its first meeting in the home of Don Klavetter at 1455 Saturn Court in Milpitas. The mission was birthed out of the missional heart of Baptist Temple in San Jose, the first Southern Baptist church in Santa Clara County. The small group met weekly in that home until October 1956, when it purchased its first property on South Main Street. On December 30, 1956, the members organized into a church and adopted the name Ford City Baptist Church, a nod to the nearby Ford Motor Company assembly plant that had just opened in Milpitas.
By 1963, the building on Main Street was condemned, and the congregation had to scramble for a new location. They found property on what was then a gravel road that would become South Park Victoria Drive. With a $12,000 loan from what is now the North American Mission Board, the church bought the property and began construction in 1964. As the new building rose, the congregation chose a new name to match its new setting: Park Victoria Baptist Church. Members themselves did much of the construction, and that original building still stands on the campus - reconfigured today as the fellowship hall known as Patterson Hall.
Between 1965 and 1978 the church entered a season of tremendous growth. A two-story education building was added in 1968 to handle the swelling Sunday school classes, and in 1978 the church built the current Worship Center and auditorium that remains the heart of the campus. What began as a living-room Bible study in 1956 has, several decades later, become a multi-building campus in the heart of Milpitas.
Sundays: A Bible Study, a Morning Service, and an Afternoon Gathering
PVBC's Sunday rhythm is built around three distinct gatherings. Bible studies for adults start at 9:00 AM in what the church calls its Equipping Hour, before the morning service. Visitors interested in a class can email info@parkvictoria.org or call the church office to find a placement.
The Morning Worship Service begins at 10:30 AM in the Worship Center, with congregational singing, prayer, and a Bible-centered sermon. The service is the church's main weekly gathering and is designed to be approachable for newcomers; afterwards members often linger over coffee and meet a few familiar faces. The afternoon Prayer and Share Service follows at 3:30 PM, a smaller gathering focused on worship, encouragement, and fellowship - a time for members to share, lift one another up, and pray together as they grow in Christ.

What a First-Time Visitor Encounters
PVBC keeps the guest experience straightforward. The dress code is wide open: people come in everything from casual to dressy-casual, and newcomers are encouraged simply to come in whatever makes them comfortable. Worship is described as vibrant congregational singing with a contemporary style of music blended with hymns, paired with heartfelt prayer and clear, Bible-centered preaching.
Families are welcome to worship together in the main service. For families with younger children, the church provides a Bible class during the second half of the morning service for children in third grade and below, easing the transition for kids who might not yet be ready to sit through the entire gathering. What the Church Believes
PVBC's teaching ministry is anchored in the Baptist Faith and Message 1963, the doctrinal statement of the Southern Baptist Convention. The full eighteen-article Statement of Faith is published on the church's site, and each article carries an extensive list of supporting Scripture references. Together they spell out the church's convictions on the Bible as the inspired, inerrant Word of God; the one true God who reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; the creation and fall of man; salvation by grace through faith in Christ; the perseverance of the saints; the church as an autonomous body of baptized believers governed by pastors and deacons; believer's baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper as the two ordinances of the church; the authority and lordship of Jesus Christ over every area of life; the cooperative work of associations and conventions without surrendering local church autonomy; religious liberty and the separation of church and state; and the family as the foundational institution of human society, with marriage defined as the covenant union of one man and one woman.
Cooperation with broader Baptist life is part of those convictions: the church belongs to its local Golden Coast Association of Southern Baptist Churches and to the California Southern Baptist Convention, working alongside sister congregations for missions, education, and benevolent ministry across the state.
KidzPark, Youth, and the Next Generation
Children have their own corner of the church in KidzPark, the children's ministry referenced throughout the church's connected-livelihood pages. KidzPark provides age-appropriate Bible teaching during the morning service for children in third grade and below, giving parents the option to keep younger children with them in worship or to send them to a tailored class.

Two special touches round out the church's connected ministry. Hospitality is a recognized area of service, focused on welcoming newcomers, organizing coffee and fellowship time after services, and helping guests feel at home during their first visits. Pastoral Team and Leadership
The senior pastor is Wayne Isgrigg, who joined the pastoral staff in July 2026. He has served churches in California since 1999 in multiple areas of ministry leadership and is a graduate of California Baptist University and Gateway Seminary of the Southern Baptist Convention. He and his wife Jill have been married since 2004, and his favorite Bible verse is 1 Peter 5:10, on the God of all grace who restores, confirms, strengthens, and establishes His people.
Ken Herrity serves as associate pastor. He served as PVBC's interim pastor in 1999 before being called as associate pastor in 2001, and he also works professionally as a system architect for a fiber optic transceiver manufacturer. He and his wife Sharon have been married since 1993.
Sharon Meinecke serves as church administrator; she has been a member of PVBC since 1982 and has served the congregation in many capacities over the years. She and her husband Steve, married since 2002, have three teenage sons. Pahm Roberts (Pamela Roberts) serves as church secretary, an employee since 2011, and serves alongside her husband David Roberts in the worship arts ministry. From the preaching archive, David Roberts and Ken Herrity carry much of the weekly pulpit responsibility along with Pastor Wayne.
Sermon Archive and Streaming
PVBC maintains a deep archive of audio and video sermons. Recent preaching series include a study through the book of James on wisdom, patience, arguments, and faith; a multi-year walk through Genesis in the spring and summer; and, before that, extended series through 2 Samuel, Colossians, Philippians, Acts, and Romans. A series on the heart of David traced themes from 1 and 2 Samuel, while a Holy Spirit series titled Don't Ghost the Holy Ghost worked through Acts. Christmas and Easter each receive dedicated series - The Garden, The Table, The Hill, and The Empty Tomb formed one Easter arc on the exchange accomplished at the cross.

Giving and Supporting the Work
PVBC understands giving as an act of worship, obedience, gratitude, and partnership in God's work. Members and visitors can give in several ways. Checks can be mailed directly to the church at 875 S. Park Victoria Drive; recurring gifts can be set up through a bank's automatic bill pay; and cash or checks can be placed in the offering box during the Sunday morning service. Online giving by credit card or e-check is also available; PVBC passes on its processing fees (about 2.9% plus $0.30 for cards and 1% plus $0.25 for ACH) and gives donors the option of including those fees with their gift. A Long-Standing Congregation Still Building
What began as a 1956 living-room Bible study on Saturn Court has, over several decades, become a multi-building Southern Baptist campus on Park Victoria Drive. The fellowship hall known as Patterson Hall is the original 1960s sanctuary, now repurposed. The two-story education building was added in 1968 during years of growth, and the current Worship Center was built in 1978.
