On a quiet stretch of Pisgah Road in Easley, South Carolina, Mount Pisgah Baptist Church has grown into a multi-generational congregation with three Sunday morning services, a packed Wednesday night schedule, and a satellite campus taking shape in nearby Liberty. The church's four-word mission - loving, growing, serving, going - shapes everything from the nursery hallway to the high school retreat.
Loving, Growing, Serving, Going
Mount Pisgah describes its purpose as a church that is "loving, growing, serving, and going to spread the good news of the Gospel." That rhythm shows up in the church's structure: Grow Groups for Bible study and community on Sunday mornings, age-specific ministries that walk with children from birth through young adulthood, men's and women's ministries that meet in their own seasons, and recurring outreach events that take the church into the surrounding community. The church holds to the doctrinal statement known as the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
Sunday Mornings on Pisgah Road
The Main Campus at 101 Pisgah Road hosts three identical Sunday morning services at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 AM. Grow Groups for all ages meet at the same three hours. Sunday evening worship gathers at 6:00 PM in the Main Campus Worship Center. Each service is also livestreamed.
First-time families will find a children's wing that runs from the Nursery for babies and one-year-olds up through Pisgah Kids Jr. for preschoolers and Pisgah Kids for first through fifth graders. The Well, the student ministry, encourages sixth through twelfth graders to attend the corporate worship service alongside their parents before heading to Sunday morning Grow Groups at 9:30 AM in the Youth Building.
Pisgah Kids Jr. and Pisgah Kids
The Pisgah Kids Jr. hallway cares for children from birth through kindergarten during every Sunday morning and evening service. Volunteers lead age-appropriate Bible stories, worship, crafts, snacks, and time on an indoor playground. On Wednesday nights during the school year, the same preschoolers join the Awana Puggle and Cubbie clubs from 6:30 to 8:00 PM, with nursery rooms available for babies and one-year-olds.
For first through fifth graders, Pisgah Kids uses the Answers Bible Curriculum, an apologetics program that helps children build a biblical worldview and work through questions about Scripture, history, and science. Sunday school takes place at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 AM, with a first and second grade "extra hour" class also at 8:00 AM. Sunday nights at 6:00 PM continue the morning's themes with worship, games, snacks, and crafts. Wednesday Awana Sparks (K5 through 2nd) and T&T (3rd through 5th) clubs meet from 6:30 to 8:00 PM and include dinner.
The Well: Middle and High School Students
The Well, led by Pastor Mason Leonard, ministers to students in sixth through twelfth grade. Wednesday nights draw students into the building with the doors opening at 6:00 PM for games and pizza, followed by a worship service in The Well Worship Center at 6:30 PM. On Sunday mornings, middle and high school Grow Groups meet at 9:30 AM.
The Well also runs two annual events that bring students together outside the building. High School Summit is a fall retreat at Camp McCall, where students worship, study Scripture, and focus on a yearly theme. Middle School Takeover is a single Saturday on campus with inflatables, games, worship, and pizza for lunch.
The Bridge: Young Adults in Their Twenties
The Bridge is the church's young adult ministry for ages 18 to 30, led by Pastor Chris Clegg. Two monthly rhythms anchor the ministry: a worship gathering with dinner on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 PM, and a Going Deeper Bible Study on the last Sunday at 7:00 PM. The Bridge also encourages its members to join Sunday morning Grow Groups at 8:00, 9:30, or 11:00 AM for deeper community. A fall retreat at Bonclarken Conference Center in Flat Rock, North Carolina, gives the group an annual weekend away.
Grow Groups Around the Bible
Grow Groups are the small-group heartbeat of Mount Pisgah. Meeting every Sunday morning at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 AM, these groups gather by age and stage of life to study Scripture, build relationships, and encourage one another in mission. Separate Grow Groups run for first through fifth graders at 9:30 and 11:00 AM and for middle and high school students at 9:30 AM. Adults of every stage find a place to belong, with married couples and senior adults (Prime Timers, 55 and up) among the groups.
Mid-Week at 6:30
Wednesday night is one of the busiest times on the Main Campus. Children's Awana clubs run from 6:30 to 8:00 PM for ages 2 through 5th grade, with dinner served. The Well student service begins at 6:30 PM with games and pizza beforehand. The Bridge, men's groups, and women's groups schedule their own recurring nights around the same weekly rhythm.
Men's and Women's Ministry
The men's ministry centers on Man Battles, a small-group study that walks through the unseen spiritual battles men face. Groups meet once a month at various times and locations. Periodic Man Church evenings bring men together in the gym for a meal and a worship service with a guest speaker.
The women's ministry hosts a women's evening several times a year, gathering women of all ages for an evening program of worship, teaching, and time for connection.
Liberty Campus: One Church, Two Locations
Mount Pisgah is planting a second campus in Liberty, South Carolina, at 504 Rice's Creek Church Road, in partnership with the former Rice's Creek Baptist Church. The new campus will operate under a multi-site model, united with the Main Campus in identity, vision, and mission. A campus pastor will shepherd the Liberty congregation week by week, supported by the Mount Pisgah staff and a Liberty Launch Team. Sunday morning worship at Liberty currently meets at 10:00 AM, while Sunday evening and Wednesday night services and activities continue to meet at the Easley campus.
Special Events and Trips
Beyond weekly ministry, Mount Pisgah runs a calendar of community events. The Fall Festival takes over Wren Hurricane Park in Piedmont each November with candy booths, carnival games, popcorn, cotton candy, boiled peanuts, and inflatables as a way to share Christ with the surrounding community. The annual Marriage Retreat takes couples to the Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove in Asheville, North Carolina, for a weekend of worship, teaching, and time away. Footsteps of Paul is a church-led trip following the apostle's route. Discover Mt.
