London Bridge Baptist Church sits on Potters Road in Virginia Beach, just inland from the Chesapeake Bay, where it has built its identity as a Bible-based congregation with something happening every day of the week. From the moment the doors open on Sunday morning through the Thursday night gatherings for young adults and recovery, the church has shaped its schedule around the conviction that real life change happens in community. Visitors are greeted with the words "A Church Home for YOU," and the rest of the church is designed to live up to that invitation: nursery care and children's ministry before service, special-needs buddies available for every child, and a pathway for anyone who wants to be baptized, join, or serve.
Sundays at London Bridge
The weekly worship gathering begins at 10:00 a.m. with a live worship band leading the room into congregational singing, followed by Bible teaching. The service runs about an hour and is described as upbeat and modern. There is no dress code: jeans, a biker jacket, and sneakers are all welcome. Guests are encouraged to come as they are, raise their hands, and worship in whatever way feels natural. Services are livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person, and previous services are available on YouTube.
Children from infants through elementary age can be dropped off at the Kids Check-in before the service begins. Special needs care is offered so that every child can participate. Middle and high school students meet separately after the morning service in The Gym at 11:30 a.m. for worship, teaching, and small group community. Adults who want to dig deeper can also join Starting Point, a seven-week membership course held in rooms A106/107 from 11:30 to 12:30 each Sunday, exploring the church's beliefs, baptism, prayer, giving, and what it looks like to belong to a church family.
What London Bridge Believes
London Bridge describes itself as a Bible-based congregation that worships Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The Bible is taught as God's inerrant word, written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit and serving as the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.
The church affirms one God existing eternally in three equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is confessed as the Son of God, equal with the Father, who lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the sacrifice for sin, rose again on the third day, ascended to heaven, and will return again to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.
The Holy Spirit is described as present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation, provides power for living, gives understanding of spiritual truth, and bestows a spiritual gift on every believer. Christians are encouraged to live under His control daily.
Salvation is taught as a free gift that must be received by faith. The church holds that no amount of self-improvement or good works can earn forgiveness; only trusting in Jesus Christ delivers a person from sin's penalty. Eternal life begins the moment a person receives Christ, and London Bridge teaches that the true believer is eternally secure in that salvation, kept by the grace and power of God rather than by personal effort. People, the teaching continues, were created to exist forever, either eternally separated from God in hell or eternally united with God in heaven.
Kids Ministry
The children's wing is one of the busiest parts of the building. London Bridge Kids exists to introduce children to Jesus in a safe, caring, and fun environment where they can learn about Scripture and build friendships that encourage them to grow in faith.
Nursery and preschool rooms serve the youngest children with Bible stories, songs, play, and creative activities in age-appropriate settings. Parents pick up their children through a secure check-in and check-out system after service.
Elementary students have three Sunday options: small group classes at 8:45 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. for 1st through 5th graders, and Children's Worship at 10:00 a.m. Children's Worship splits into two age groups, 1st through 3rd grade and 4th through 5th grade, and brings them back together for a dynamic worship experience. Throughout the year the ministry adds family events such as Kids Camp, Vacation Bible School, and Parents Night Out.
AWANA meets Wednesday nights during the school year at 6:30 p.m. for students from age 3 through 12th grade. AWANA is an internationally recognized Bible study and discipleship program built around Scripture memorization, engaging activities, and mentorship.
A Special Needs Buddy Program welcomes dedicated volunteers to walk alongside individual children, helping them participate fully in the church's life. Parents interested in pairing their child with a buddy can request one through the church, and volunteers can apply to serve.
Students, 6th through 12th Grade
London Bridge Students exists to send out students who glorify God by making disciples in their neighborhoods, nation, and world. The ministry is built around four commitments: knowing God through worship and teaching that takes Scripture seriously, finding community through small groups and friendships, making disciples through hands-on opportunities, and making a difference by stepping into schools and neighborhoods as the hands and feet of Jesus.
Students meet on Sundays at 11:30 a.m. in The Gym for worship, teaching, and community, and again on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. for a full evening that begins with a provided dinner. Throughout the year the ministry creates unique spaces for guys and girls to grow in distinct ways. Student Pastor Josh Mains, who grew up in New England where Christianity is anything but the norm, leads the team alongside Girls Ministry Director Cassidy Brinson, a Liberty University graduate pursuing further education in counseling.
Young Adults and Young Married
The Young Adults Ministry gathers young singles ages 18 to 35 every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the church foyer. The café opens 30 minutes before small groups begin, games are set up, and snacks are provided. Small groups are intentionally formed with eight to ten people each, creating space for care, growth, and impact. After small groups, the night continues with Christ-centered conversation and growing connections.
The ministry also runs a number of serve teams, including Check-in, Café, Social Media, MC, First-Time Visitors, and Site Team. Director Jordan Neighbarger oversees the ministry alongside the Young Adults & Hospitality role.
The Young Married Ministry is for married young adults, typically in their 20s and 30s, whether newlyweds or further down the road with children. The group focuses on marriage enrichment, community and friendship, spiritual growth, life skills and wisdom, mentorship, and fun and fellowship, meeting couples where they are in their marriage journey.
Women's Ministry
London Bridge Women exists to help women grow in their love for Christ and one another. The ministry cultivates a supportive and nurturing environment where women, whether married or single, mothers or military spouses, English or Spanish speaking, can find authentic relationships and explore their faith alongside others.
Women's Ministry & Connections Director Donna Paulk oversees the work, and several focused ministries fall under her care. Flourish is a mentorship program connecting women across multiple generations and seasons of life to share wisdom, encouragement, and authentic friendship. Women can apply to become a mentor or request a mentor.
Moms Connect offers a supportive community where mothers can find encouragement, rest, and real friendships. Focus groups allow moms to dive into Scripture while their little ones are cared for nearby, monthly meet-ups give mothers of littles a casual playdate rhythm, and an annual retreat offers a full day of food, fun, and fellowship, with childcare available upon request.
HUGS is a ministry and connect group for widows, providing support, encouragement, and a place to walk alongside one another in the difficult season of life. Monthly prayer meetings gather on the third Saturday of each month from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in Room A103. Three larger connection events are planned each year, with smaller gatherings like game nights, movie outings, and summer Bible and book studies filling out the calendar.
Men's Ministry
London Bridge Men gathers around the proverb that iron sharpens iron. The ministry's stated mission is to unite men through fellowship, mercy, forgiveness, and accountability, and to empower other men toward Christlikeness with wisdom, love, discernment, trust, and integrity. The vision is to create a unified brotherhood of Christlike men committed to the Great Commission.
Two structured discipleship paths anchor the ministry. One to One Discipleship is a nine-week guided study that pairs men together to build the kind of relationship that sharpens faith and shapes character. After completing the course, men can move into a Mentorship Partnership, an ongoing pairing that lasts at least a year and is built on trust, consistency, and shared commitment to walking with Christ. Men can sign up to be mentored, become a mentor, or nominate a mentor.
Seniors and Recovery
Senior adults have their own ministry at London Bridge, built around ongoing events from social gatherings to educational programs that provide a supportive and welcoming community. Psalm 91:16 anchors the ministry: "With long life I will satisfy Him and show Him my salvation."
Recovery ministry at London Bridge runs three flagship programs. Celebrate Recovery meets at 6:30 p.m. in Room F200 every Thursday night. It is a Christ-centered program with foundations firmly established in Biblical truth, pairing the 12 Steps with accompanying Scriptures and the 8 Principles based on the Beatitudes. Childcare is available by request.
GriefShare offers a caring group of people who will walk alongside participants through one of life's most difficult experiences. The sessions are led by people who understand grief and want to help, with access to GriefShare resources that support recovery and rebuilding.
DivorceCare provides a class led by someone who understands the sharp pain of divorce, with the resources needed to begin putting the pieces back together and foster hope for the future.
Outreach, Missions, and Faith Riders
The Outreach & Missions ministry wants to see every believer equipped and empowered to live life on mission. Partnerships extend to local schools, community ministries, church plant partners, and international mission leaders. Upcoming and ongoing opportunities include a Mobile Grill Walk that shares the Gospel while providing a fresh hot meal to those in need, and an Essential Services Day serving with People In Need (PIN) Ministry.
International trips include Puerto Rico and Tanzania, with the Tanzania trip scheduled for November 2-14, 2026. Share Class is a three-part program that equips participants with evangelism tools such as the Three Circles, building confidence to participate in London Bridge missions.
F.A.I.T.H. Riders is a motorcycle ministry hosted at London Bridge, passionate about sharing Christ with the world. The group gathers weekly for Bible study, holds monthly Christian Bike Nights, and participates in service projects, bike festivals, mission trips, and bike safety courses. The chapter welcomes Christian motorcyclists and the friends they bring, including those who may not feel comfortable walking into a traditional church.
Small Groups, Focus Groups, and Membership
Sunday worship is the front door, but the church teaches that real transformation happens in smaller circles. Small groups meet on campus before or after worship service, with childcare available, and also in homes throughout the week. Focus Groups are semester-based, short-term groups focused on a particular study topic or book, meeting on and off campus and covering a wide array of interests.
Membership begins with Starting Point, the seven-week course that lays out the beliefs and mission of the church. After baptism by immersion, members are invited to participate in Serve Class, a two-week course that helps people discover their spiritual gifts and explore where they can serve. Share Class, the three-week evangelism course, is a prerequisite for participating in outreach and missions opportunities.
Weekday Preschool
London Bridge Preschool (LBP) is the church's weekday preschool, currently registering for the 2026-2027 school year. The preschool operates as a separate program on the church's campus, led by Preschool Director Melissa Duque and Assistant Preschool Director Elizabeth Brinson. Registration packets and program information are available, and tours can be scheduled for families interested in learning more.

London Bridge offers five ways to give: online, through the London Bridge mobile app available on iOS and Android, by texting any amount to 833-941-0702, in person through offering envelopes and collection boxes at the main campus, or by fee-free electronic transfer directly from a bank. The church provides members with free access to Right Now Media, a large library of videos and content for groups and personal study, and a one-year free subscription to Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace program.
