One Family Across the Lowcountry
Faith Church fills a growing corner of the South Carolina Lowcountry. What began more than forty years ago as a small gathering in a living room has grown into a single congregation that meets in nine locations, stretching from Walterboro in the southwest to Moncks Corner in the north and across the Charleston suburbs. The main office sits on Farmington Road in Summerville, but the church sees itself as one family in many places, with a simple focus: Know God. Grow together. Discover your purpose. Make a difference.
Faith Church operates under the covering of the Assemblies of God, a Pentecostal fellowship that shapes both its belief in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the warmth of its gathered worship. On any given Sunday, more than a thousand people across the Lowcountry are singing, praying, and listening to teaching rooted in Scripture, in services that mix heartfelt contemporary worship with practical, Bible-based messages meant to be lived out during the week.
From a Living Room to the Lowcountry
The story is a familiar one in American church life, told here in Faith Church's own words. A small group of believers began meeting in someone's living room with a single vision: to reach people and build a community centered on Jesus. From those modest roots the congregation grew, planted new campuses, and slowly filled in a map of the coastal plain south of Charleston. Today the church describes itself in deliberately plain language. Real people. Real relationships. Real growth together. The reach has expanded; the heart, they say, has stayed the same.
Pastor Larry and Jeanne Burgbacher have led Faith Church for most of their more than thirty years in full-time ministry. They live in the Lowcountry, the place they both serve and call home, and they pour themselves into a roster of campus pastors who each care for one of the nine locations. The couple's stated priority is straightforward: help every person who walks through the doors feel known, valued, and supported, and help people take their next step.
The Nine Campuses
Every campus is part of the same church, but each one keeps its own rhythms, its own staff, and its own sense of place. Visitors are encouraged to pick the location closest to home and step in there.
- Goose Creek meets at 303 N Goose Creek Blvd, Goose Creek, SC 29445. Sunday services are at 9:00 and 11:00 AM. Caleb and Kara Rogers serve as campus pastors, with Staci Shiner leading Faith Kids and Matthew Figueroa directing students and worship.
- Hispana shares the 3001 Landing Parkway address in North Charleston with the English-language North Charleston campus, but offers its own services in Spanish at 10:45 AM and 12:10 PM. Worship is led by Katia Pinon.
- Moncks Corner meets at 1286 N U.S. Hwy 52, Moncks Corner, SC 29461. Sunday worship is at 10:00 AM, with Johnny and Heather Poston as campus pastors, John Henry Braun leading worship, and Bobbi Chase directing students.
- North Charleston meets at 3001 Landing Parkway, North Charleston, SC 29420 (the same building as Hispana) at 10:00 AM. Allan and Chelsey Varnadoe are the campus pastors.
- Revive Charleston meets at 1527 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406. Services are at 9:00 and 11:00 AM. Steve and Sonya Fowler-Vaughn are the campus pastors, joined by associate pastor Joe Garofalo and students and kids director Nikki Belk.
- Ridgeville meets at 1185 Cypress Campground Road, Ridgeville, SC 29472, with services at 9:00 and 11:00 AM. Tim and Cheryl Roberson lead the campus, with Rob Constantin as student and associate pastor, Tanner Nix leading worship, and Faith Jackson overseeing Faith Kids.
- Santee meets at 9150 Old Number Six Hwy, Santee, SC 29142, and runs three Sunday services at 8:30, 10:00, and 11:30 AM. Matt and Dana Suttle are the campus pastors; Donald Hart directs students and Dale Gilreath leads Faith Kids.
- Summerville meets at 337 Farmington Road, Summerville, SC 29486, with services at 9:00 and 11:00 AM. Jason and Jessica Burgbacher are the campus pastors, supported by Amanda Atkins (Connection Pastor), Taylor Clyde (Worship Pastor), Elizabeth Clyde (Online Campus Pastor), Natalie Dings (Faith Kids), and students pastors Shaatir and Marissa Monroe.
- Walterboro meets at 858 Bells Highway, Walterboro, SC 29488, with one Sunday service at 10:00 AM. Daryl and Dianne Hunt are the campus pastors, with Trae Thomas as associate pastor, Nolan Thomas as associate and student pastor, and Jason Vaughn leading worship.
A Sunday at Faith Church
First-time guests are told to expect a warm welcome and an unhurried hour or so of worship and teaching. Services typically run about 75 to 90 minutes. Most people dress casually, and no particular style is expected. Coffee is usually available, hosts are posted in the parking lot and at the doors, and the services are built around three steady elements: contemporary worship led by a campus worship pastor, prayer, and a practical message grounded in Scripture.
Families check their children into Faith Kids before the service begins. Parents who would like a moment of quiet can sit near the back, where it is easy to slip out with a fussy infant, and most campuses offer a nursing mother's room and a family restroom. The Hispana campus adds a dedicated breastfeeding area and an outdoor playground where children can play before and after the services, and the Revive Charleston campus includes a sensory room for children who need a calmer space during the service.
For those who can't make it to a physical location, the church streams services online at 9:00 and 11:00 AM through Faith Church Online. The experience is the same worship and teaching, hosted by Online Campus Pastor Elizabeth Clyde and her team.
Faith Hispana: A Spanish-Speaking Home
The Hispana campus meets in the same building as the North Charleston location but offers a distinct ministry in Spanish. Sunday services run at 10:45 AM and 12:10 PM, with worship led by Katia Pinon and a full children's ministry that follows the same Faith Kids curriculum as the other campuses, adapted for Spanish-speaking families.
The campus extends its rhythm beyond Sunday morning. Students in grades 6 through 12 meet on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM for a youth service with their own worship band and teaching. Young adults gather on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM for Bible study and conversation. On Saturdays from 7:00 to 8:00 AM, the Hispana family meets for a focused hour of prayer. First-time guests are welcomed with a small gift and invited to share coffee and conversation in the courtyard after the service.
Faith Kids: From Nursery Through Fifth Grade
Faith Kids is offered at every campus during the regular Sunday services. The ministry is structured around four environments designed for specific stages of childhood.
- Nursery (0 to 2 years) is a peaceful space where the youngest children are held, prayed over, and cared for by background-checked team members.
- Preschool (3 years through Kindergarten) teaches through music, movement, stories, and play.
- Elementary (1st through 5th grade) is a high-energy environment built around Scripture, worship, and friendships.
- Faith Kids VIP is the special needs ministry, designed so that every child can learn about God in the way that fits them best. Trained team members build ongoing relationships with each child, and availability varies by campus and service time.
Check-in uses a secure process at every campus, and parents can pre-register their children online to make the first Sunday smoother. The Kids team is supported by a Parent Portal that offers conversation starters, weekly takeaways, and practical tools designed to help parents lead their children spiritually at home.
Faith Students: Middle and High School
Faith Students is the church's ministry to students in grades 6 through 12, and the team likes to describe it as "9 campuses, 1 big party." The goal is simple: give students a space to belong, build real friendships, and figure out who they are and who God created them to be.
Each campus runs its own weekly gathering with high-energy worship, relevant teaching, and small group time with leaders who care. In addition to Sunday nights at most campuses (Ridgeville meets at 6:00 PM and Santee meets from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, for example), students take part in camps, mission trips, weekend hangouts, and larger seasonal events. There is also a dedicated student worship band on the Hispana campus. The overall aim is the same in every location: help students build a faith that lasts beyond middle and high school.
Young Adults, Sisterhood, 2nd Act, and Faith & Finances
Faith Church organizes its adult ministries around the seasons of life its people are walking through.
Young Adults is for people ages 18 to 30 and centers on a monthly gathering called The Table, hosted at the Summerville campus. The night includes worship, a practical message, and roundtable conversation, with the goal of helping young adults build meaningful relationships and grow in their walk with God. Small groups for this age group meet throughout the week across all nine campuses, and Together Nights bring everyone together quarterly.
Sisterhood is the women's ministry, connecting women of all ages through groups, gatherings, and special events designed to encourage, support, and strengthen their walk with God.
2nd Act is the community for adults in their fifties and beyond, designed to help people stay engaged, build friendships, and continue growing as they step into a new season of life.
Faith & Finances offers practical, biblical guidance on money matters, including debt reduction, budgeting, generosity, and building a healthy, God-centered approach to personal finances.
Marriage, Recovery, and Care
The Care Ministry at Faith Church is broader than a single program. It includes both short-term crisis support and ongoing discipleship for people walking through some of the most difficult seasons of life.
Re|Engage is the marriage ministry. Hosted at the Summerville campus, it is open to any married couple, whether the marriage is thriving or struggling. The format combines biblical teaching with small group conversation, and the goal is to help couples reconnect, rebuild trust, strengthen communication, and grow closer together. Couples considering reconciliation are also welcome.
Re:Generation is a Christ-centered, 12-step recovery program that meets weekly. The Summerville group gathers on Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 PM with group leader Toni Freeman; the Revive Charleston group meets on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 PM and is led by Pastor Steve Fowler-Vaughn. Childcare is available in Summerville. The program runs about a year and is open to anyone seeking healing, growth, or freedom in any area of life.
Biblical Counseling offers one-on-one support with a trained counselor who provides compassion, prayer, and practical guidance for people facing overwhelming seasons. Appointments are scheduled individually.
Divorce Care is a guided support ministry for people during or after separation or divorce, and Grief Share offers a similar structure for those experiencing loss. Both run on a semester basis and are open to anyone in the community.
Small Groups, Growth Track, and the Next Steps Path
Small groups are the backbone of life at Faith Church outside of Sunday services. Groups meet in homes, coffee shops, and on church campuses across the Lowcountry. Most meet weekly or every other week, and gatherings usually run 60 to 90 minutes. Group types include men's groups, women's groups, marriage and family groups, student groups, and groups open to everyone, with topics that range from Bible study and prayer to outreach, freedom, and virtual or summer-session formats. Childcare availability varies by group.
Faith Church runs a formal Growth Track that walks people through four steps: Connect, Discover, Develop, and Serve. The track is offered at every campus, and the goal is to help people get to know the church, understand how God has shaped them, grow in confidence, and begin using their gifts to serve others. After Growth Track, people are invited to join a Dream Team and serve alongside others in the life of the church.
Faith Christian School
Faith Christian School is the church's PreK through 12th grade school, operated in cooperation with the congregation. The school promotes academic excellence within a Christ-centered biblical worldview and partners with families to educate children from preschool through high school graduation. It is one of the more distinctive features of the broader ministry.
Mom's Morning Out and Weekday Care
Faith Church runs a weekday childcare program called Mom's Morning Out at two of its campuses. The program operates Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 12:50 PM, currently at both Goose Creek and Moncks Corner. Children participate in fun, structured activities that introduce early learning concepts and a simple introduction to God's love in an age-appropriate way, while parents get a few hours for errands, rest, or connection with other adults. The program recently moved from the Summerville campus to Goose Creek.
Prayer, Baptism, and Salvation
Prayer is a daily rhythm at Faith Church. The Intercessory Prayer Team covers the church, the Lowcountry, and the world in intentional prayer, and anyone can submit a prayer request online; the prayer team aims to respond within four to eight hours. The Hispana campus adds its own weekly Saturday prayer gathering from 7:00 to 8:00 AM.
Baptism is offered throughout the year and happens during one of the regular worship services as a public celebration. The church encourages anyone who has decided to follow Jesus, adult or child, to be baptized, and provides a simple sign-up form online. Children whose parents believe they understand the meaning of baptism are welcome as well.
For people exploring faith, the Salvation pathway walks through what it means to follow Jesus for the first time, with prayer, a Bible reading plan, and Growth Track as the recommended next steps.
Leadership
Pastor Larry and Jeanne Burgbacher have led Faith Church for more than three decades and continue to oversee the pastoral staff and the campus pastors across the nine locations. Tim Twigg serves as Discipleship Pastor, Tim Smith as NextGen Pastor, Taylor Clyde as Worship Pastor, and Jerimiah King as Music Director. Each of the nine campuses is pastored by a campus couple or lead pastor, supported by worship pastors or leaders, students pastors or directors, and Faith Kids pastors or directors. The full campus team roster is listed on the church's About page.
Kingdom Builders and the Food Bank
Kingdom Builders is the generosity initiative that fuels Faith Church's mission locally and globally. Gifts support the planting and expansion of life-giving campuses, missionaries, and outreach efforts. The church is a 501(c)(3) organization, and all gifts are tax-deductible.
The Revive Charleston campus also hosts a Food Bank on the first and third Saturday of each month from 8:00 to 10:00 AM. Food is distributed through a drive-through and walk-up setup, and the church says it has become one of the most tangible ways the congregation loves its neighbors. The Revive Truck, a street ministry vehicle, brings free toys, prizes, and family activities to neighborhoods, campuses, and events across the region.
What Faith Church Believes
Faith Church's statement of faith is built around eight core convictions drawn from Scripture and shaped by its place in the Assemblies of God.
The Old and New Testaments are the verbally inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, the only written revelation from God to man. Humankind was created in the image of God but fell through disobedience, was separated from God, and stands in need of salvation. There is one true God, eternally self-existent and revealed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Salvation comes only through Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to pay the penalty for sin and rose again. By faith in Christ, believers are forgiven, adopted as children of God, made new creations, and given the Holy Spirit as the internal evidence of salvation, with the fruit of the Spirit as the external evidence.
The church is the body of Christ, with a threefold purpose: to evangelize the world, to worship God, and to equip believers for ministry. The nine fruits and nine gifts of the Holy Spirit are part of the Spirit-filled life and are to be exercised in love and order. Finally, there will be a final judgment: those whose names are written in the Book of Life will be resurrected to eternal reward, and those whose names are not will be consigned to everlasting punishment.
Church Online, Giving, and Getting Connected
For people who can't attend in person, Faith Church Online streams services at 9:00 and 11:00 AM. Online guests can also join groups, give, and connect with a campus through the same online tools.
Giving is available four ways: online through the church's secure portal, by texting "faithgive" to 94000, by mailing a check to a campus address or dropping one off during office hours, or by placing a check or cash in the offering buckets during Sunday services. Envelopes are available on Sundays, and gifts can be made payable to Faith Church.
Anyone who wants to take a next step can fill out a Connect Card online, register for Growth Track, sign up for baptism, submit a prayer request, or explore groups, Dream Teams, and small-group leadership opportunities. The church's central office can be reached at theoffice@faithishere.org or (843) 873-9128.
