A Pentecostal Training Center on Mount Vernon Road
The Life Center Ministries sits on Mount Vernon Road in Dunwoody, on the north side of the Atlanta metro, where its sign and parking lot mark the home of one of the area's most distinctive Pentecostal congregations. For more than thirty years the church has gathered a multi-ethnic, multi-generational body of believers around a single focus: equipping Christians to hear God's voice, walk in His gifts, and carry His presence into every corner of everyday life. That focus has shaped everything from the Sunday worship calendar to the year-round slate of training schools that draw students from across the region.
Visitors tend to notice the worship first. Apostle James Fields, the church's Director of Worship & Arts, leads a team that the church describes as "vessels echoing the sound of God in the earth," producing an intimate worship environment intended to open space for the prophetic, signs, wonders, and miracles. The Life Center describes itself in three words - Personal Revival, Kingdom Impact - and frames its culture around cultivating an atmosphere of freedom through prophetic worship and apostolic teaching.
Sunday and Friday: Two Rhythms of Encounter
The week at The Life Center turns around two main gatherings. Sunday mornings begin at 9:15 AM with Bible study, followed by the main Worship Experience at 10:30 AM. The service is livestreamed for those who join online and is the church's flagship teaching time, where apostolic instruction meets prophetic ministry.
Friday nights at 7:30 PM are Encounter Night, the church's signature citywide service, and they follow a rotating pattern that has become a kind of monthly rhythm for the wider community:
- 1st through 3rd Friday - Prophetic Night. Prophetic teams minister after the main message, and Presbytery appointments are scheduled on the second and third Fridays.
- 4th Friday - Miracle Night. A free Miracle Outpouring Service open to anyone seeking breakthrough in physical, emotional, spiritual, or financial areas.
- 5th Friday - Supernatural Healing & Deliverance Night. Focused ministry from the SH&D team.
Corporate Prayer meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays at 7:30 PM, with a separate Habitation Prayer gathering on the last Wednesday of the month at 7:00 PM (skipping November and December).
A Church Built Around Schools and Conferences
What sets The Life Center apart from a typical neighborhood church is the depth of its training curriculum. The church's self-stated mandate is to "equip and prepare the Saints for the work of the ministry in all realms of life," and it pursues that through five overlapping schools that run throughout the year:
Apostolic Training educates believers on the apostolic move of God and the third reformation of the Church, with workshops such as "Embracing the Apostolic," "How to Build Your Apostolic Center," and an Apostolic Workshop. Prophetic Training offers introductory, intermediate, and advanced tiers (called Launch, Ascend, and Ignite) aimed at helping students discern God's voice for themselves and others.
The School of Miracles combines introductory and advanced tracks into one immersive experience with biblical teaching, practical activation, and hands-on ministry. Supernatural Healing & Deliverance (SH&D) Training follows a three-stage path called Remedy, Restore, and Reclaim, then opens into Freedom Explosion intensives that focus on unforgiveness, family sin patterns, wounds and hurts, lies we believe, and deliverance from demonic spirits. Finally, Evangelism Training (Power Evangelism) prepares believers to share Christ with effectiveness and to demonstrate the love of God in practical ways.
Two major conferences anchor the calendar: the Prophets & Apostles Conference (PAC), and the Limitless Miracles & Deliverance Conference, alongside the EnVision Dreams & Visions Conference. The Life Center also hosts Head of the Month (HOTM) Live + In-Person on First Fridays, where attendees "come sit among the prophets" for a night of Word and activation.
Friday Night Presbytery
One of the church's most distinctive offerings is Presbytery, a ministry rooted in 1 Corinthians 14:3. In a semi-private setting, small groups of ten or fewer gather with a team of prophetic ministers who seek God together for a personal prophetic word for edification, exhortation, and comfort. The Life Center schedules Presbytery on the second and third Friday nights of each month, immediately following the evening message.
Those in the Metro Atlanta area are encouraged to register online ahead of time; walk-ins can register on site from 6:30 PM until registration closes promptly at 7:30 PM. For those outside the area, virtual Presbytery is offered, with limited slots that often fill quickly; participants receive detailed instructions by noon on the Friday of their scheduled session, and the virtual rooms open after the service, usually around 8:30 PM. Anyone who has received Presbytery in the past twelve months is invited to participate in the open prophetic ministry that happens in the sanctuary or virtually on Facebook each Friday night.
Supernatural Healing & Deliverance Ministry
The SH&D ministry is one of the clearest expressions of The Life Center's identity. Its purpose, as the church describes it, is to "teach, train, activate, and mature Christians in healing and deliverance" using prophetic insights and the supernatural giftings of the Holy Spirit. The team operates the SH&D school, runs conferences and workshops, and staffs the fifth-Friday Encounter Nights and Miracle Outpouring Services.
Anyone interested in receiving a personal SH&D session applies through the church's online form, completing every section and emailing it to SHDMinistry@lifecenter.org. A team member follows up within five to seven business days to schedule the session.
Force Youth
Middle and high school students meet as Force Youth every Sunday at 10:00 AM. Each gathering combines worship, community, and discipleship, with small groups divided by grade so that conversation stays age-appropriate. The first youth worship experience of each month adds a pancake breakfast, along with games and activities designed to make it easy to bring a friend. Adult leaders walk through the year with the same group of students, so relationships build week by week.
Men, Women, and the Marketplace
Adult ministry at The Life Center is intentionally relational. The Men's Ministry gathers on the second Saturday of each month at 9:30 AM, with the meeting calendar pausing in September, November, and December. The Women's Ministry meets on the fourth Saturday of each month at 10:00 AM, on the same seasonal pause. Both are led by pastors on the staff team.
A separate Marketplace Alliance Group, pastored by Pastor John White and Pastor Dawn White, connects the church's business and professional members. The Life Center's broader life includes volunteers serving a food pantry, working in prison ministry, mentoring elementary students, repairing bicycles, building wheelchair ramps, and making hospital baby blankets - a snapshot of how the congregation sees faith expressing itself in everyday service.
What The Life Center Believes
The Life Center teaches that God is one, manifested in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - and that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God, born of a virgin, crucified, resurrected on the third day, and now seated at the right hand of the Father as the only way to salvation. The Bible is the inspired, infallible, and unchangeable Word of God from Genesis to Revelation.
Salvation is described as the gift of God, made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and producing works acceptable to God. The church practices two ordinances: water baptism as an outward expression of inward surrender, and Communion as a regular remembrance of Christ's sacrifice. Believers are also taught to seek the Baptism in the Holy Spirit as a subsequent experience accompanied by speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.
The church affirms the present-day ministry of the five-fold gifts described in Ephesians 4:11-12 - apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers - and structures its training and leadership around that framework.
Leadership and Staff
The Life Center is led by a team that reflects the church's apostolic and prophetic identity. Apostle Don Wales serves as Chief Executive Officer, and Dr. Mary Crum is Co-Founder and Senior Leader. Prophet Catherine Sykes directs ministry across the church, while Pastor Wanda Ray serves as Administrative Pastor and oversees the prayer line. Apostle James Fields leads worship alongside Worship Director Mario Pugh.
The Prophetic School is co-directed by Prophet Pat Fraley and Prophet Eric Etheridge. Pastor Charles Fraley and Pastor Derrick Frank lead the Men's Ministry, and Pastor Lisa Frank leads the Women's Ministry. Pastor John White and Pastor Dawn White oversee the Marketplace Alliance Group.
