Worship on Sunday Mornings at 9:30
Hope Fellowship Community Reformed Church gathers at 2400 S. Ash Street in southeast Denver every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. for a one-hour service that blends liturgies, Scripture reading, preaching, and music rooted in the Reformed tradition. Hymns and modern worship songs are accompanied by organ, piano, guitar, or viola, with lyrics displayed on the screen for everyone to follow along. On the last Sunday of each month, the congregation worships together across generations, collects items for the monthly C.A.R.E. Closet distribution, and celebrates communion. All who are baptized and confess Jesus as Lord and Savior are welcome at the table.
For those who cannot attend in person, services are livestreamed on the church's YouTube channel and through BoxCast, and recordings of recent sermons are posted online for catch-up viewing.
From Third Christian Reformed Church to Hope Fellowship
The congregation's roots in the Denver area go back more than seven decades. Hope Fellowship was established in 1953 as Third Christian Reformed Church, with the groundbreaking ceremony for the building held on April 24, 1954. As new generations joined and ministries grew, the church took on a new name, Hope Fellowship Christian Reformed Church, and in 2026 updated it again to Hope Fellowship Community Reformed Church, signaling both continuity with the Reformed tradition and a renewed commitment to the surrounding community.
A Reformed Identity: Creeds, Confessions, and Scripture
Faith at Hope Fellowship is centered on Jesus Christ. Through Christ, the church teaches, God is reconciling the world to Himself and inviting people into new life by grace. The Bible is understood as the inspired Word of God, telling the story of God's redeeming work and shaping the church's worship, teaching, and life together.
As a congregation in the Reformed stream of Christianity, Hope Fellowship affirms the three historic ecumenical creeds - the Apostles' Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed - along with the three classic Reformed confessions: the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort. The church emphasizes the authority of Scripture, salvation by grace alone through Jesus Christ, God's sovereignty over all creation, and the call to live every part of life in gratitude to God.
Five core values shape how the congregation lives out that faith: Fellowship, Generosity, Faithfulness, Compassion, and Service. The church's stated mission is to be formed into a people of abundant love by gathering for transformative worship, living out open-handed hospitality, and growing in purposeful relationships with God, one another, and the surrounding community.
Children, Youth, and Family Ministries
Children are an intentional part of the worshiping community at Hope Fellowship. Each Sunday begins with families together in the sanctuary for a children's message, after which kids are invited to Children's Church downstairs for an age-appropriate lesson. Children's Church serves preschool through 5th grade, with curriculum taught by trained volunteers. On the fourth Sunday of the month, children stay in the sanctuary for the intergenerational service, help collect donations for the C.A.R.E. Closet, and participate in communion alongside the rest of the congregation.
A staffed nursery is available most Sundays for infants and toddlers from birth through age three, with a check-in system that lets parents receive alerts if needed. For families who prefer to keep little ones close, the Gathering Place behind the sanctuary has speakers so parents can still hear the service, and a Mother & Baby Room just west of the Gathering Place is available for nursing or diaper changes.
Older students have their own place too. Middle and high school youth meet regularly for faith, friendship, and community, with a kickoff gathering at the start of the ministry year. The church is also home to Boy Scouts of America Troop and Pack 194, led by members of the congregation. The Pack meets for boys in grades 1 through 5, and the Troop serves students in grades 6 through 12, with both groups gathering on Monday evenings during the school year.
Children's bulletins, coloring sheets, crayons, and activity bags are available every Sunday for kids who remain in the sanctuary with their families.
Bible Studies for Women, Men, and Spanish Speakers
Discipleship at Hope Fellowship takes shape around a variety of weekly Bible studies. Esther's Girls gathers on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 for fellowship, prayer, and study. Joy Guild meets on Wednesday afternoons at 1:00 for women who want to study Scripture over coffee. Two men's groups offer flexibility: a Tuesday morning study at 7:30 a.m. and a Thursday evening study at 6:30 p.m. A women's evening Bible study led by Pastor Sheri meets on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.
A Spanish-language Bible study, Estudio Biblia en Español, meets on Sunday mornings at 9:30 in the Youth Room. The congregation invites Spanish-speaking participants to join the regular communion service on the last Sunday of each month as well.
Most studies begin in the fall and take a break during the summer. Newcomers are welcome at any point, and study guides and Bibles are available for those who need them.
Community Life: Book Club, Hikers, Dinner Club, Golden Girls
Beyond Bible study and Sunday worship, Hope Fellowship has a wide range of social clubs that create connection across generations. Book Club is an intergenerational group that meets the third Wednesday of each month to discuss a chosen book. Dinner Club forms mixed-age groups of seven or eight adults who take turns hosting a monthly potluck. Garden Club members of all ages tend the vegetable garden in front of the church during the growing season. Golden Girls brings women aged 55 and older together for monthly activities ranging from brunch and outings to craft and game nights.
Hope's Hikers gathers the first Monday morning of each month from spring through summer for an easy-to-moderate hike in the Denver area, followed by lunch out. These clubs are open to all ages and skill levels, and new members can join at any time through Church Center.
Love in Action: C.A.R.E. Closet, Hope's Angels, Service Trips
Love in Action is the umbrella for the church's outward-facing service. The C.A.R.E. (Community Assistance & Resource Effort) Closet provides essential cleaning and personal care products to neighbors who need them. On the third Wednesday of every month, the Fellowship Hall opens at 5:30 p.m. for a community dinner open to everyone, followed by distribution of care items. The intergenerational service on the last Sunday of each month also collects donations for the Closet.
Hope's Angels is the church's annual Christmas giving program. Members select ornaments from a tree and provide gifts for children connected to the church, with the gifts presented at a special dinner. The congregation also takes part in one off-site service project each year outside of Colorado, working alongside ministry partners both locally and globally.
Ministry Partners Near and Far
Hope Fellowship supports a network of mission partners through its general budget and benevolence giving. Locally, the church follows the work of Jesus on Colfax, Shawn and Diane Sikkema's ministry with neighbors along East Colfax in Denver. The Table addresses food insecurity in Denver through gardening and free food services, and Volunteers in Action connects community members with volunteers and other resources in the area.
Internationally, the church partners with Jim and Ruth Padilla de Borst and their Costa Rica ministry through Resonate Global Mission, with Sarah Baker and José Moya, who serve in Peru with Inti Ayllu, and with Jeremiah's Hope, a Christian health ministry in Cambodia serving those without access to affordable health care. The congregation also supports World Renew and has taken service trips with the organization to participate in God's work of renewing hope and reconciling lives around the world.
The Building, Accessibility, and What to Expect
The building at 2400 S. Ash Street was designed to be welcoming and accessible. Handicapped parking, elevator access, and hearing loops are available. A free parking lot on the east side of the building leads to glass double doors near the handicapped spaces, where greeters welcome visitors; free street parking and a wooden-doored entrance on the west side are also available.
Most people, including the pastor, dress in business casual, with some dressing up and others in jeans. Coffee, conversation, and connection happen in the Gathering Place behind the sanctuary both before and after the service. The Welcome Table in the Gathering Place offers Sunday bulletins, large-print hymnals, giving envelopes, a list of ministries, and Connect Cards for visitors who would like the church to follow up.

Leadership and Staff
Sheri Admiraal serves as Pastor of Faith Formation. She joined Hope Fellowship in 2022 and oversees the church's ministries, provides pastoral care, assists with preaching and worship, and helps lead the congregation's life together. She holds a master's degree from Calvin Theological Seminary.
Worship is led by Worship Director Matthew DeHarte. Children's Ministries are coordinated by Ashlyn Brand, and the Care Team is coordinated by Kelly Herrema. Wendy Meintjes serves as Business Manager and Amy McGrath as Office Administrator. Jaime Roa serves as the church's Facilities Caretaker.
