Reach Up, Reach In, Reach Out
On Nolensville Road in Brentwood, Tennessee, Concord Village Baptist Church has built its identity around a simple three-fold motto: reach up in worship, reach in through discipleship, and reach out with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. That rhythm shows up in everything from the weekly schedule to the children's ministry, and it gives first-time visitors a clear picture of what the congregation is about.
Sundays at Concord Village
The Sunday morning pattern begins at 9:15 a.m. with Connection Groups, age-appropriate Bible study classes that run alongside one another so the whole church can be in a small-group environment before the service. Groups are offered for babies through 2-year-olds, 3-year-olds through pre-kindergarten, kindergarten through 2nd grade, 3rd through 5th grade, youth in grades 6-12, and adults broken into stages of life: 18-35, 35-50, 50-65, and 65 and up. There is also a men's group and a senior ladies' group.
At 10:30 a.m. the congregation gathers for the Worship Service. Parents of infants and toddlers through pre-K can drop their children off in Extended Care during the service, while older children attend Connection Groups or sit with family.
Wednesday Family Nights
Midweek brings the church back together at 6:30 p.m. for Midweek Family Worship, a family-style service that pulls people off the back half of the week and into shared teaching and prayer.
CV Kids
Children have their own ministry called CV Kids, anchored by Psalm 78:4: telling the praiseworthy acts of the Lord to the next generation. CV Kids exists to equip children to reach up through worship, reach in through discipleship, and reach out with the gospel, with the stated goal that every child would know Him, grow in faith, and share His love with others. On Sunday mornings, CV Kids uses the 9:15 a.m. Connection Groups for Bible teaching and the 10:30 a.m. hour for Extended Care for the youngest children.
What They Believe
Concord Village holds to historic Baptist convictions. The church teaches that the one true God has revealed Himself through Scripture and has invited people into a personal relationship with Him by grace alone through faith alone in His one and only Son, Jesus Christ. The Holy Bible is their authority for faith, ministry, and practice, and their doctrinal statement is The Baptist Faith and Message, the doctrinal statement of the Southern Baptist Convention.
The church also publishes a clear, step-by-step explanation of how to become a Christian, walking through admitting sin, believing in Christ's atoning death and resurrection, and trusting Him as Lord, followed by public baptism as a first act of obedience.
