A Pentecostal Church on North Mallory Street
Calvary Assembly of God stands at 1380 N Mallory Street in Hampton as a Pentecostal congregation that describes itself as "mission-minded, family-focused." Calvary Kids from Nursery Through Sixth Grade
Children's ministry is led by Kids' Director Jennifer Carpenter. On a first visit, parents complete a guest registration form and each child is given a tag matched to a parent tag. The church will not release a child to an adult without the matching tag, and the sanctuary displays the security number if a child needs their caregiver during the service. Nursery care for newborns through 24 months includes a separate nursing mothers room. Preschool for ages 2 through 5 meets in downstairs rooms 106 and 108. Elementary students in kindergarten through fifth grade gather in the Upper Room. Each age group receives an age-appropriate lesson and snack.
FLOOD Student Ministries
Students in 6th through 12th grade meet as FLOOD Student Ministries on Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM in the Upper Room. The ministry's stated mission is "to CONNECT with students and DEVELOP them into life-long disciples of Jesus Christ, who REACH their world through the power of the Holy Spirit." Worship for the larger Sunday gathering is led by Ky Baty, who also serves as FLOOD's leader and oversees the Sunday band rehearsal that begins at 8:00 AM.
Community Groups for Every Season
The church organizes small groups into three categories: discipleship, fellowship, and service. Discipleship groups include Pathfinders (Sundays at 6 PM in the Upper Room, led by Howard and Kathie Lee Walls), Remnant (Mondays at 6:30 PM, led by Chris and Amy Jenkins), Titus Ladies (Thursdays at 9 AM with Debra Davis), and Titus Brothers (Thursdays at 9 AM in Room 201 with Joe Kock). Wiser Still, an in-depth adult Bible study led by Paula Brown, meets Wednesdays at 7 PM in the Sanctuary and livestreams weekly on the church's Facebook page.
Fellowship groups center on marriage and bereavement. Married Season 1 and 2, for newly married couples and those still raising children at home, meets bi-monthly under Seth and Julia Campbell. Married Season 3, led by Keith and Kelly Zagursky, gathers empty-nesters on a Friday or Saturday evening each month. Joy Comes in the Morning meets quarterly on Fridays at 5:30 PM as a place for widowed women to share food and fellowship under Jennifer Carpenter. A Men's Dinner gathers the first Wednesday of the month at 6 PM at outside picnic shelters, and a seasonal Men's Golf group plays Tuesdays from 4 to 8 PM under Keith Zagursky.
Prayer, Worship, and Service Teams
Several ongoing teams form the Sunday experience. The Band and Worship Team rehearses at 8:00 AM and leads the 10:00 AM service. Karen Trimble leads the Altar Ministry, praying with those who respond during services. Hope Jordan leads Frontline Prayer, gathering intercessors on Sundays and Wednesdays. Kelly Zagursky oversees the Connections Team that greets visitors at 9:15 AM, and Julia Campbell runs the Overflow Cafe in the foyer starting at 8:45 AM. Seth Campbell leads the Creative Team, which handles design, photography, videography, and sound for the Sunday and weekly experience.
Rangers and Family Discipleship
A Royal Rangers outpost is part of the church's family ministry for boys. Campouts begin with a Friday evening departure from the church at 5 PM and end at noon on Sunday, with Council Fire, skits, and up to two merit badges available. The camp costs $40 per camper, with fathers invited at $5 per meal. The church also offers a "Preparing for Harvest" leader-training module that walks adults through legal responsibilities, easing conversations with families, and responding well when frustrated. Members are given free access to the YouVersion Bible App and the RightNow Media streaming library.
