Family Life Church sits along South Saint Paul Highway in Newberg, Oregon, a single-story building with a covered entry and an inviting front sign. The congregation's own tagline says it all: building safe and authentic spaces for real people to meet a real Jesus. Each Sunday at 10:30 AM the doors open for a service shaped around worship, prayer, teaching from Scripture, and what the church describes as the empowering work of the Holy Spirit.
Sunday Mornings on St. Paul Highway
The Sunday gathering begins at 10:30 AM at 502 S St Paul Hwy. Visitors are welcomed with a relaxed atmosphere, friendly faces, heartfelt worship, and a message that speaks to real life. The church repeats the invitation often: come as you are. A coffee shop run by church member Adam Carpenter is part of the morning routine, giving newcomers a natural place to linger before and after the service. Teaching moves through books of the Bible; the recent series worked through Matthew, following Jesus' life, teaching, and the Kingdom He came to establish. Services are livestreamed on the church's YouTube channel for those at home or traveling.
LifeKids and the Student Store
Children from six weeks old through fifth grade are welcomed into LifeKids, the children's ministry led by Kids Pastor Jeanine Pomeroy. The program runs at the same time as the main service, so families worship together in the room and kids head to their own age-appropriate environment. LifeKids mixes engaging Bible lessons, joyful worship, hands-on activities, and friendship-building, and the team partners with parents by sending resources home for the week.
A distinctive feature of LifeKids is an incentive program built around Bible Bucks. Children earn Bible Bucks for attending, bringing their Bible to church, completing weekly devotionals, and memorizing Scripture, then spend them at the Student Store. The system is designed to make Sunday morning something kids look forward to. Family activities are sprinkled through the year as well.
LifeYouth on Wednesday Nights
Middle and high school students, sixth through twelfth grade, gather for LifeYouth every Wednesday at 7:00 PM. Youth Pastor Joelle Bass oversees a night built around community, fun, and teaching that challenges students in their faith. The ministry's heartbeat is belonging: a place where teens can be themselves, find friends, and take real steps toward Jesus. Special activities and outings are added through the year to build the kind of memories that keep students coming back.
Royal Rangers and the Next Generation
The church groups its work with children, teens, and young adults under a banner called GenNow. Kids Ministry, Royal Rangers, Youth Group, and Young Adults share a common conviction: the next generation is not just the church of the future, it is part of what God is doing right now. Royal Rangers, led by Dale Farris, gives boys a place to grow through adventure, leadership, and faith while building character, confidence, and lasting friendships. The Young Adults community is a space for post-high-school men and women to connect with Jesus, grow in faith, and build authentic friendships that last through every season of life.
Men, Women, and Seniors
Adult ministry at Family Life Church is intentionally relational. Men's Ministry, led by Mitch Nosack, gathers men for connection, spiritual growth, and monthly breakfasts. Women's Ministry is led by a team of Sandee, Christee, Nicole, Debby, and Nancy, and focuses on Bible study, fellowship, purposeful service, and nights built around laughter and friendship. Seniors' Ministry offers a caring, Christ-centered community with monthly outings, prayer, encouragement, and the kind of friendship that suits every stage of life.
Life Groups and Prayer
Life Groups are the small-group engine of the congregation. These groups meet on a regular rhythm throughout the week to study the Bible, pray, encourage one another, and simply do life together. Sheryl Garrison coordinates the network. The Prayer Team, with Laura Weber leading the prayer chain, walks alongside anyone walking through a hard season or celebrating a victory, standing with them in prayer.
What Family Life Church Believes
Family Life Church is an Assemblies of God congregation, aligned with the denomination's Statement of Fundamental Truths. The church teaches that the Bible is God's Word and eternal truth, that one eternal God exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man. Jesus lived a sinless life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again, and the Lord's Supper is observed as a regular remembrance of that work. Forgiveness comes through repentance, faith in Jesus, and surrender to Him, and believers are called to be baptized in water and filled with the Holy Spirit. The church teaches the personal return of Jesus, final judgment, and the hope of a new heaven and new earth.
The values spelled out on the church's own statement of belief are Christ-centered, multigenerational, community focused, simple, authentic, and missions minded. Scripture is the focus and authority, every age and stage is valued, the church sends its people beyond its own walls, and it commits to doing what God calls it to with excellence. Local and global missions are supported through prayer, finances, and strategic ministry partners.
